Nothing quite says a family Christmas than everyone digging into a tin of sweets, trying to find the ones they like. Now, no one needs to fall out over who had the last Purple One because Customised Quality Street is back for Christmas 2022 at John Lewis, and that means filling up a 1.2kg tin with all the sweets you do like.

According to John Lewis, for 86 years, Quality Street® has been one of the nation’s favourites at Christmas, and with its sparkling mix of colours, shapes and delicious flavours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Across 18 UK stores, Quality Street® pick and mix stations are back, meaning enjoying everyone’s favourites has never been easier.

How it works

Customers can choose at least three varieties of sweets to add to a tin – they can also personalise the tin with a name of their choice (up to nine characters).

For My John Lewis members, they can ‘pick and don’t mix’ by filling your tin with just one flavour.

And for anyone who is not new to this concept, they can bring a tin from a previous year and simply refill it.

Note: Quality Street® pick and mix is not available online.

This year, there is a returning flavour – Honeycomb Crunch – which was last seen in 2018.

The sweet features crunchy honeycomb pieces and a smooth honeycomb flavoured centre wrapped in a delicious milk chocolate shell.

But be quick, Honeycomb Crunch is a limited edition and exclusive to John Lewis.

As for what other flavours customers can choose from; all the classics are returning.

Milk Choc Block, Orange CrÉme, Toffee Finger, The popular Purple One, Fudge, Caramel Swirl, the divisive Coconut Eclair. Green Triangle is also available, as is Toffee Penny, Strawberry Delight and Orange Crunch.

Personalised tins and favourite flavours is £17, the collector’s edition tin and favourite flavours is £14.

For those that reuse their personalised tin and choose favourite flavours, it’s £10.

A standard pre-filled tin costs £12 and a Quality Street cracker is £5.

The full list of pick and mix station locations are available on John Lewis’ website.

Quality Street senior brand manager Jemma Handley said: “We are delighted to announce the return of our beloved pick and mix stations at John Lewis for 2022, complete with a delicious new flavour sweet.

“Best of all, you can tailor the contents precisely to your liking, whether that means nothing but purple ones, a tin full of the new honeycomb crunches, or a feast of fruit crèmes.”

Chocolate lovers have been rejoicing on social media.

@laurajkirwan said: “All strawberry cremes please!” Whereas @cottamlara_xoxo prefers another flavour: “omg!!! I want this with just orange.”

@Sian_massage_may wrote: “A box of green triangles please.”

@trees_kelly remarked: “Imagine a full tub of purple ones.”
