Ronan and Storm Keating’s baby name explained with beautiful connection to the couple’s Scottish wedding

Ronan Keating has taken to Instagram to share the very exciting new that his wife Storm has given birth to a little baby girl and revealed her stunning name.

Taking to Instagram to share the happy news, the former Boyzone singer, 43, posted a black and white photo of his fashion designer wife, 38, cradling their newborn in the hospital bed.

Ronan, who previously revealed the gender of the little girl exclusively to OK!, captioned it: "Hello world," with a baby emoji, before continuing: "Spreading some good cheer at this time with the announcement of the safe delivery of our little girl Coco Knox Keating.”

He continued: “Calmly arrived on 27/3/20. Mama & Baba are rocking," with the hashtags #HappyTimes, #KeatingClan and #BabyKeating”.”

So, what is the meaning behind Ronan and Storm’s newborn baby’s name?

Well, starting with Coco, this name is a girl’s name of French origin and it first came to prominence as it was the nickname of legendary French designer Chanel, born Gabrielle.

Lately, Coco has become a favourite name amongst celebrities, with the likes of Friend’s star Courtney Cox having chosen it for her daughter, Coco Riley, in 2004.

Storm Keating, Ronan’s wife and mother to Coco, is an Australia fashion designer, and she has been creating and sewing her own designs since she was nine years old, and so it could be that Coco has been chosen as a name for their baby daughter as it was the same name given to fellow fashion designer Coco Chanel.

The website babycenter.com deem Coco to be a name inspired by fashion designers, and they also show that the name has become more and more popular in the 21st century.

Ronan and Storm have chosen ‘Knox’ as well, and nameberry.com say that Knox is a boy’s name of Scottish origin meaning “round hill.”

The site continues: “Knox is an old Scottish surname that Brad Pitt (whose great-great-grandfather was named Hal Knox Hillhouse) and Angelina Jolie took out of the back cupboard, dusted off, and elevated to coolness–to the point where it entered the popular baby nameslist in 2009.
