Sexy bottomless brunch strip show promises five-star performances from hunky men

After the success of Magic Mike shows, a new era of sexy striptease shows have been introduced.

Gregory Hughes and his business colleague felt inspired to combine a racy show with standard bottomless brunches, and now the rest is history.

Having started his venture around four years ago, Gregory's idea began with just two male performance shows.

Now years on, Gregory's shows not only target hen-dos, but gay stag parties and the LGBTQ scene too.

He said: "We had no idea if it was going to work but I took a leap of faith.

"It started off as two male strip performances and two buff butlers serving the customers.

"But our aim was to appeal not only to the masses of screaming hens, but also the gay stag parties and LGBTQ scene."

They built a show into a more inclusive event to feature LGBTQ performers, something that's never happened before.

Six years on, their Boy Toy Bottomless Brunches are held monthly in five UK cities – including London, Manchester and Liverpool – with plans to expand into Europe.

Their flagship venue – in London's Salsa! Temple bar – plays to a 300-strong crowd. – one of the websites which promotes them, among other brunches, says it's seen an increase in bookings, year on year.

Founder Tom Hatton says: "The Boy Toy Brunches always sell out and even during the pandemic, because they were during the daytime and really entertaining, people were still booking up.

"We're selling close to £5,000 brunch covers a month and expect this to be closer to £10,000 by the middle of April. That's double what we were doing this time last year."

The popularity is, in part – says Tom – down to the reasonably priced packages that West End deals – often topping £100 per person – simply can't compete with.

He adds: "Tickets cost, on average between £40 to £49.95. Where else can you go to a top show to see incredible performers, with amazing food and free flowing bubbles all for under £50 a head?"

The increased popularity of these mainstream, daytime brunches offering titillation on the side is also a sign of the times, says performer Zaki Musa who combines striptease with aerial acrobatics for his Boy Toy act.

Even 35 year-old Marshall Arkley, who started off making porn films and once went under the stage name 'Casper the Friendly Stripper', admits he's had to up-skill to stay ahead in such a competitive industry.

Marshall, who works for strip cabaret group Adonis as well as Boy Toy, says: "There are fellow performers who are ex Cirque Du Soleil.

"I've got other mates in this industry touring the US in stage musicals. There are super credible performers doing strip and as well as doing light cabaret and fire manipulation I'm also starting to learn aerial.

"There's always going to be a place for the Full Monty type performance, with the men hung like a stallion, but these days there is also a lot more interest in a bigger show with really talented performers offering a lot more than just that.

"We are so much more than Magic Mike."
