Watch Elizabeth Warren's Epic Reply to Same Sex Marriage Question

“My faith teaches me that marriage is between one man and one woman,” began the Q.

The debate around same sex marriage has divided conservatives and liberals for decades… but Elizabeth Warren has a very simple solution.

The Massachusetts Senator had an epic response when questioned about the topic at a CNN town hall event in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

"Let’s say you’re on the campaign trail, and a supporter approaches you and says, ‘Senator, I am old fashioned, and my faith teaches me that marriage is between one man and one woman’," asked Human Rights Campaign Chair Morgan Cox. "What is your response?"

"Well, I’m going to assume it’s a guy who said that," she replied to laughter, before following the quick jab up with a devastating cross.

"And I’m gonna say, ‘Then just marry one woman. I’m cool with that.’"

After waiting for the applause and cheers to die down, she unleashed the finishing blow: "Assuming you can find one."

The clip was retweeted by thousands of people on Twitter, including US Women’s Soccer captain Megan Rapinoe who added fire emojis, Alyssa Milano who said it "made my day", and Patton Oswalt who could only summarize: "daaaaamn elizabeth".

The Democratic presidential hopeful, who grew up in a Republican household and was allied with the party until 1996, was then asked by moderator Chris Cuomo if she ever felt differently about the issue.

"No, I don’t think so. I actually don’t remember it. I mean, it may have been the case, I don’t have notes from when I was a little kid," the 70-year-old replied, adding that what she took away from the church’s teachings was acceptance no matter what.

Elsewhere in the LGBTQ discussion, a Cuomo gag wasn’t quite as well received; as Kamala Harris came to the stage and declared her pronouns were "she/her/hers", the host quipped "mine too"… and it went down like a lead balloon. He later apologized on Twitter.
