Wetherspoons is doing discount vouchers with up to £100 off food and drink – but there’s a catch | The Sun

WETHERSPOONS fans can enjoy cheaper pints and meals this month – but be careful before you order because there's a catch.

The popular pub chain is already known for its bargain booze and nibbles and has more than 800 pubs operating in the UK.

Wetherspoons has gained a loyal army of fans who flock to the boozer for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It frequently gives customers the chance to save money at the bar – including slashing the price of its pints by 7.5% once a year.

And a select few can bag an even bigger bargain, for a limited time.

The Wetherspoons Little Book of Big Savings contains vouchers that can help you save money on food and both alcoholic and non alcoholic bevs.

It includes vouchers to get a pint of Carling for £2.49, saving up to £3 if you're buying a pint from a pub in areas such as London or Brighton.

If you're feeling pecking, you could also breakfast muffin and drink for £1.99, saving you around £1.

But these prices may vary depending on where you live, so be sure to check with the bar before you buy.

The pub chain says the booklet contains £100 worth of savings inside.

But you'll need to be a student to be eligible for the discount.

The booklets are sent out to Wetherspoons pubs in student towns and cities and given to heads of local student societies to distribute.

Vouchers run until the end of October and can be used at Wetherspoon's pubs across the country.

You can find your local branch by using this handy locator tool.

You can still ask for a booklet from behind the bar, but in previous years, people have been asked to show their uni ID to claim it.

It will come as great news to 'Spoons customers, who have seen prices bump up on their favourite drinks recently.

In March, it reportedly added 10p to the cost of a pint, and 20p for pubs in London.

But the pub chain’s boss, Tim Martin, hinted at further hikes, stating that soaring prices of labour, food and energy bills have put “considerable pressure on costs”.

If you aren't a student, don't worry, as there are still ways to save money at Wetherspoons.

Having your trusty Wetherspoon app means you can cash-in on all the latest deals and discounts at your local.

It's free download, and even lets you order at the table too.

Wetherspoon offers discounted dinners as part of its Steak and Curry Clubs.

It's worth joining in the craze as you can get something like a gourmet steak and a beer over a pound cheaper than normal.

You used to be able to order the menus only on certain days of the week but Wetherspoon made the dishes available everyday back in June last year.
