Woman gives up ‘boring’ 9-5 to work for herself – and buys £69k car a year later

A young woman has revealed how she bought her dream car just a year after giving up her mundane 9-5 job and working for herself instead.

Makayla has shared all about her money-making business venture on TikTok under the username @makemoneywmak.

She said started her own e-commerce business and made a cool $90,000 (£67,500) in the first year.

"A year ago I made a promise to myself that I'd never work a 9-5 job again," she said in a video on TikTok.

"So I started my first online business and put everything I had into it. I ignored everyone who said 'get a real job.'"

She then flashed what appears to be her online bank balance, which is currently at a whopping $90,000 (around £67,500).

However, she appears to have made a lot more since then.

Makayla then unveiled a brand new 2021 Range Rover – which start from around $92,000 (£69,000) – which she says she was able to buy.

Her new career also means Makayla can enjoy fancy dinners and nights out, which she posts about online.

The young entrepreneur now says she spends her time doing "what she wants to do" while working for herself.

In a series of clips on her TikTok account, Mikayla explains how she makes her money and claims it's easy enough for anyone to do.

She has an online retail business which is known as 'dropshipping'.

This is when the seller takes customer orders but does not keep goods sold in stock.

Instead, items are shipped straight from the supplier to the customer – which means there's less work involved for Mikayla.

She says she finds on-trend products through suppliers then sells them on her website which she created through Shopify – a popular e-commerce platform.

Doing this lets her to sell the same items for double or triple the amount she paid for them without keeping any stock.

Some items that have made her "successful", according to Makayla, include a LED vanity mirror, wholesale cosmetic jars, custom made neon signs and ceramic vases.

In one video, she says her favourite ways to find trends include Google Trends, Erank.com, Pinterest trends and #amazonfinds on TikTok.

Mikayla admitted her business venture wasn't short on "hate", but said she's "thankful" that she "didn't listen to everyone's dumb opinion".

Now she says she's "financially free" in her twenties, all thanks to her savvy business idea.

Mikayla's story comes after Emily Kathleen, 27, has revealed she also quit her job and now makes £96,000 stripping and pretending to be a guy's girlfriend.
