Armie Hammer ‘pulls out’ of The Offer after a string of ‘vicious’ online attacks
Actor Armie Hammer is believed to have withdrawn from his latest filming project following an array of wild accusations on social media.
Armie, 34, was set to star in the upcoming Paramount Plus series of The Offer, which focuses on the behind-the-scenes making of The Godfather.
The actor was allegedly gearing up to take the lead role in the 10part show as producer Al Ruddy who produced the iconic 1972 film.
News linking Armie to The Offer began to circulate in early December 2020, but Variety now reports that bosses at Paramount are on the search for a new leading actor.
It comes just weeks after the star pulled out of the upcoming rom-com film, Shotgun Wedding in which he was set to star alongside global superstar, Jennifer Lopez.
A spokesperson for Lionsgate said at the time: "Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision."
