The BRIT Awards 2020 is coming up – and for the 40th show the organisers are handing over more creative control to the performers.
There will be more musical performances, and the awards have been "streamlined" down to nine.
And British Artist Video of the Year has been scrapped.
That means there will be less awards, which leaves time for more music at the BRITS next year.
The major BRITS 2020 revamp also includes the Rising Star Award, which was the old Critic’s Choice Award.
One of the biggest changes is that the winners will now be chosen by the 2020 Official Voting Academy instead of the public.
Chairman of The BRITs Committee for 2020 and Chairman and CEO of Universal Music UK David Joseph, said: “We have had a fresh look at the BRIT Awards this year.
“Most importantly we will be putting creativity, British culture and exceptional performances at the heart of the show to make BRITs night a world class celebration.
“The awards should be a global platform for the artists of the year to create moments that live beyond the night itself. We are looking at everything to put on the best possible show.”
The winners will receive the classic Lady Britannia BRIT statuette.
