Lady Gaga postpones Chromatica album release due to coronavirus

Lady Gaga fans have been left heartbroken after the star postponed her album Chromatica due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bad Romance hitmaker explained her decision to fans on social media, reasoning that she wants her Little Monsters to be able to enjoy the album altogether.

She wrote: ‘First of all, I want to make sure everyone is staying safe and practicing social distancing. Please know that I’m thinking of you all.

‘I wanted to tell you, that after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica. I will announce a new 2020 release date soon.

‘This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.

‘Instead I prefer that we spend time fousing on finding solutions. It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by the pandemic.’

She went on to reference her Las Vegas shows being postponed, and promised updates when she has them.

Although fans are heartbroken over the decision, they’ve shared the love for the singer, with one writing: ‘Sending you love, we respect this decision very much.’

Another added: ‘Don’t worry Gaga, we understand that this is not the way you wanted to celebrate the release of your album, please take your time and stay safe, the true fans will ALWAYS be here for you and Chromatica.’

The lead single of the album, Stupid Love, has already been released after it leaked online.

In an interview with Paper magazine, which sees her posing naked while hooked up to a number of cameras for the futuristic sci-fi cover shoot, Gaga revealed she knew all about the leak.

Gaga told the publication: ‘There was a minute where me and my manager, Bobby, were talking, “Do we change the single?” We’d just spent months and months developing this video and choreography.

‘I said, “Nope,” you know why? Because the song when it’s mixed, mastered and finished with the visuals and everything I have to say about it, when all those things come together at once, that will be the art piece I’m making. Not a leak.’
