Former One Direction star, Liam Payne, has admitted that he used "mood stabiliser" drugs during his One Direction heyday in order to help him cope.
Liam, 26, was catapulted to international stardom as a teenager when X Factor boss, Simon Cowell, made him a member of supergroup One Direction.
Cheryl's ex has openly spoken about his struggles over the year as he battled his fast rise to stardom.
Speaking to The Guardian, Liam said: "I just needed a little bit of help to keep me stable – but under certain lights on stage or during interviews, I wouldn't be able to tell them my name."

The dad-of-one has also spoken about turning to alcohol at the height of his boyband days in order to deal with long periods of boredom that he had to go through between shows.
Liam claims that there was nothing else to do during his downtime as he and former bandmates, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik couldn't leave their hotel without being stormed by thousands of fans.
The singer continued: "Doing a show to however many thousands of people then being stuck by yourself in a country where you can't go out anywhere – that else are you going to do? The minibar is always there."

The couple appeared to have put the past weekend behind them, which saw Liam allegedly "jumped" by three bouncers at a Texas bar.
In a deleted Instagram story, the Strip That Down singer claims staff at The Silver Fox in Texas allegedly jumped him for no reason.
He captioned the story: "@thesilverfoxsatx three of your bouncers just jump me for no reason whilst I was grabbing my ID I took pics of the whole thing look forward to seeing you in court."
