Taylor Swift new album time: What time will Taylor Swift drop new album Folklore

Taylor Swift went from country darling to pop princess over the years. Her music has changed a great deal throughout her career, and her upcoming album Folklore may continue with this shifting music style. However, fans will be desperate to know how they can get their hands on the new album.

What time is Taylor Swift’s new album Folklore dropping?

According to Swift’s various social media posts about the new album Folklore will be released at “midnight tonight.”

However, her website suggests the album will be available at midnight ET, which will be 5am BST (July 24).

For American fans living in ET, the album will indeed arrive at midnight, while those living in PT, such as those living on the western coast of America, the album will arrive more like 9pm the evening before.

However, for UK fans, to remove any confusion, the album will be available when you wake up on Friday morning and is available for pre-order now so fans don’t miss out.

The 30-year-old, who released her seventh studio album Lover last year following a two-year hiatus, recorded the new record in lockdown with the help of some very famous friends.

Speaking about the album in a lengthy Instagram post, Swift said: “Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen.

“And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise.

“Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into.

“I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point).

“Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing @bethgarrabrant.”

Other than her musical heroes, Swift also spoke out about why she felt this was the moment for new music.

She added: “Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed.

“My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world.

“That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much”

The tracklist of Folklore on the main LP is as follows:
