Caledonian Sleeper trains are getting a brand new look for 2019!
The overnight rail service, which operates between London and Scotland, is introducing a new £100million fleet with a total of 75 carriages, all boasting swish new upgrades.
That includes a whole new range of accommodation types such as rooms with double beds and en-suites, a first in the train company's history.
Now, Caledonian Sleeper has shared a sneak peek at some of the new furnishings and rooms on offer for passengers, and they look pretty swish.
Think elegant interiors with neutral tones boasting the occasional pop of colour, cosy cabins with spacious beds, and large seats with heaps of leg room for those who want to sit and watch the world go by.
Passengers will have a choice of five new room types on board, compared to the usual three it has offered until now. These are:
It's not all about the rooms either – the Club Car is also getting an update with plush seating and all of the usual hearty dishes and mouthwatering treats on offer, whether you want a filling breakfast or just fancy a pre-bedtime tipple.
There's good news for train enthusiasts though as you won't need to wait long to see it for yourself.
The new trains will be operating from June onwards (until then, the rail service will continue to use its current trains).
You can already book your tickets on the Caledonian Sleeper website for travel dates from Sunday 2nd June.
It's worth noting that when you book, there are railcard discounts which may apply.
The trains will actually begin operating by the end of May, initially on the Lowlander route (London to Glasgow/Edinburgh), and then the Highlander route (London to Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William).
Testing of the coaches started in 2018 and is ongoing, with some coaches currently undergoing their final fitting out in the Central Belt.
Ryan Flaherty, Serco’s Managing Director for Caledonian Sleeper, said: "The launch of the new Caledonian Sleeper is fast approaching and travelling on our service will be a truly magical experience that will transform travel between London and Scotland.
"I would encourage anyone interested in being one of the first to experience the new trains to book their travel on our new website, which has been completely revamped to reflect the monumental and exciting changes to our service.
"Caledonian Sleeper is competitively priced and means guests can avoid the hassle or additional costs of getting to and from the airport. It is the only way to be at your destination in plenty of time for early morning meetings or a full day’s sightseeing without the cost of a hotel."
