The post was shared by a friend, who wrote: “So a friend was gone for a week on business and her husband made this sign for their son to hold to welcome mom back! I died laughing.”
The image of little Daimen and his sign then went viral, with more than 132,000 shares and 76,000 reactions at the time of publishing.
Daimen’s sign rivals those of an Australian couple who made headlines earlier this year with the unique way they greet each other at the airport.
Robyn Thomas, who lives in Brisbane, and her boyfriend Crin, who lives in Melbourne, spend most weekends flying back and forth to see each other.
And to keep the gruelling arrangement amusing, they greet each other at the airport bearing witty signs, such as “I hope your anal colonoscopy went well!” and “Even tho [sic] we’re cousins I still want to get married”.
“Strangers looked at us very funny — it’s most awkward for the person holding the sign,” Robyn told news.com.au.
She continued: “Crin does a sign for me every time I fly into Melbourne, so it’s very even.”
