TUI issues travel update to Brits with cancelled flights

The airline, which was among the worst hit by the cancellations chaos over half term, said it was pre-emptively scrapping flights to try and overcome staffing issues.

In a message to staff seen by The Guardian, easyJet's chief operating officer Peter Bellew said: “Making these cancellations is not something we take lightly but what’s worse is to cancel our customers’ plans on the day that they are ready to fly."

It isn't just easyJet being forced to cancel flights – TUI is cancelling around six flights a day this month.

And British Airways has cancelled 16,000 flights between March and October, as well as scrapped some long haul routes until the end of the year.
