Sci-fi fans can pretend they're really going exploring in space thanks to a quirky new hostel.
The Galaxy Pod Hostel in Reykjavik has ditched traditional dormitories in favour of 'Space Pods' which look like they could easily be out of a Star Wars themed.
Stack on top of each other, each pod is decorated to look like the interior of a space ship, down to fake buttons and control panels.
The pods have all of the basic amenities you need for a good night's sleep including a memory foam mattress, a shelf, an alarm clock and various light settings to create a spaceship-esque ambiance.
Other features include a security box, power plug and mirror.
Space explorers who want to venture beyond their pod will find the hostel boasts a lounge, self-service kitchen and movies room (We're betting Star Wars and Star Trek are popular choices amongst guests!).
The good news is that you won't need to break the bank if you want to check it out for yourself; prices start from £37.92 per night with Hostelworld , and the hostel does offer couples' rooms with bunk beds, or dormitories for 10 people, or 12 people.
Then of course it boasts a handy location in downtown Reykjavik, so it's ideal if you want to do some sightseeing in the city, with highlights including the Harpa Concert Hall, National Museum of Iceland and Sun Voyager sculpture.
Oh, and of course Reykjavik is hailed as one of Iceland's best places to see the Northern Lights , so if the Aurora is on your radar you may want to consider a trip during the winter months. (You may also want to take note of this photographer's top tips for capturing the perfect shot).
Meanwhile, foodies will be spoiled for choice thanks to the wide array of restaurants where you can find everything from budget eateries to swanky fine dining spots, not to mention the plethora of vibrant bars if you fancy a post-dinner tipple.
