Kids will love this pink Cinderella castle which inspired Disney – and you can stay on the estate for £13pp a night

KIDS wanting to spend the day being a prince or princess can stay near a pink castle just like Cinderella's in the UK.

Craigievar Castle in Aberdeenshire is even thought to have inspired the Disney castles.

Originally built in 1576, and completed by 1626, Craigievar Castle is now owned by the National Trust.

It was painted pink to match the granite roof, and was once visited by Queen Victoria.

The castle was even thought to have inspired Walt Disney's castle, whose most famous Cinderella Castle features across all of the Disney theme parks.

Guests can go on guided tours of the castle, much of which has been preserved as they were with no artificial lighting or electricity being added.

The castle isn't open to guests right now due to Covid, but families can book tours when it reopens.

While guests can't stay inside the castle, they can stay at the Steading Cottage on the grounds, which is less than 10 minutes away.
