TUI’s new cruise ship now features a West End musical-themed afternoon tea

West End musical fans can get a slice of the glitz and glamour thanks to a brand new afternoon tea!

The Great Musical Afternoon Tea will be a weekly offering where everything will be themed around the biggest songs and shows, from the food names to musical surprises and decor.

But you won't find the quirky offering on land – instead, you'll need to board cruise ship Marella Explorer 2 , the latest addition to TUI-owned Marella Cruises' fleet.

The afternoon tea will feature seven savoury dishes as well as a few options for those with a sweet tooth.

White-gloved waiters will serve up the mouthwatering options from the 'By Royal Appointment’ tiger bread and coronation chicken sandwich to the 'School Lunch' cucumber and truffle egg mayonnaise double decker and the 'Vietnamese Melody' beef tenderloin yakitori.

As for dessert, expect some classic 'Naught but Nice…' treats such as homemade scones, preserves and clotted cream.

Oh, and keep an eye out for the ‘I Like to be in America’ ultimate New York Cheesecake.

Diners can also choose from six different teas, as well as a cocktail of choice to complement the tasty menu.

The afternoon tea will be a weekly affair in the ship's elegant Dining Club, which will be dressed up for the occasion with plenty of show posters, memorabilia and a few musical surprises.

Although all of Marella Explorer 2's sailings are all-inclusive, the Great Musical Afternoon Tea will be an extra for passengers.

The tea is available for £15 per person, although you can upgrade to a tea including some champagne for an extra £5 each.

Passengers will be able to book using the onboard kiosks.

Sound tempting? You can find out more about Marella Explorer 2's itineraries here including its upcoming Atlantic Explorer sailing in 2020, a 14-night sailing on board Marella Explorer 2 from Malaga to Barbados.
