HOLIDAYS within the UK will be able to restart from April 12 – although only for one single household at first.
But when can hotels and self-catering accommodation reopen and how many people are allowed to holiday together?

Are hotels currently open?
No, hotels have been forced to close due to the lockdown.
They are only allowed to open for essential reasons, such as for key workers or for vulnerable people.
Self-catered accommodation and sites such as caravan parks are also closed.
When will hotels reopen after lockdown?
Hotels will be able to reopen from May 17, welcoming guests back before the May bank holidays.
This is after self-catered accommodation which includes holiday parks and caravan parks, which can open from April 12.
On June 21, holidays will resume with no restrictions in England.

How many people can I stay with?
From May 17, only two households can stay together at a hotel, with no limit on people – for example, this means two households of four people could stay together, taking the total number of people to eight.
If from more than two households, then the rule of six must be obeyed.
From June 21, there will be no restrictions on how many people can go on holiday.
What about other holidays?
Caravan parks and holiday parks can reopen earlier as they are self-catered – meaning no shared facilities – and will welcome one household holidays from April 12.
Campsites are yet to be given an official date as they may not be included due to the shared toilet and shower blocks.
Holidays abroad are to be reviewed from April 12 but will be no earlier than May 17.
