Activist pleaded for help finding missing husband hours before she was murdered

A devoted wife who spent seven months trying to find her missing husband, and father to her one-year-old child, was kidnapped and murdered by "armed men".

Activist, Aranza Ramos, was found dead hours after she was taken from her home in the Guaymas neighbourhood of Ortiz, Mexico.

According to local media the 28-year-old mum was taken from her home at 10pm on Thursday before the Guaymas Municipal Police and paramedics found her body on a pavement at 11.30pm.

The Sonora state Attorney General's Office confirmed details of the gruesome discovery, reports the Mail Online.

Aranza had joined missing persons Facebook groups in an effort to find her husband and on the day she disappeared had posted an appeal pleading for the public's help to find her spouse Brayan Celaya.

Her appeal read: 'Family and friends, can you help me share the image of Brayan once again as I ask you to keep him in your prayers.

"I thank you from the heart! Thank you very very much!! We will find you my live, wait for me a little more!!'

Ramos was part of two missing persons groups; Madres Buscadoras de Sonora (Searching Mothers of Sonora) and Guerreras Buscadoras de Sonora (Searching Warriors of Sonora).

According to Madres Buscadoras de Sonora Aranza visited a hidden grave where human remains were found on the day she was killed.

Madres Buscadoras de Sonora said in a statement: "A great person whose only sin was to love her husband with all her soul, whom she has tirelessly searched for since he disappeared.

"Why kill her? What crime did she commit? She was not looking for the culprits or for justice; she was just looking for peace and to find a dignified place for the love of her life, the father of her daughter."

The Sonora state Attorney General's Office described her as "brave" and as someone who worked tirelessly to reunite loved ones.
