Arvada woman’s body recovered from Rocky Mountain National Park – The Denver Post

DENVER — A team of search and rescuers have recovered the body of a 33-year-old Arvada woman from a drainage area near The Loch, a popular lake and hiking destination in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said in a statement that visitors spotted the woman’s body on Friday but that dangerous weather prevented rangers from reaching the site late Friday and on Saturday. Patterson said a team reached the site on Sunday and extricated the woman’s body up 60 feet of steep and rocky terrain to a trail.

The Larimer County Coroner/Medical Examiner identified the woman as a 33-year-old from Arvada. Her name wasn’t released pending notification of next of kin.

Park authorities are investigating the incident.
