Bill Shine to be next White House communications director

Bill Shine, the former Fox News executive ousted during the sexual harassment scandals at the network, is expected to be named the next White House communications director, a report said Wednesday.

Shine, a top lieutenant of former CEO Roger Ailes and an ally of Fox News host Sean Hannity, was offered the job by President Trump after the two met in recent weeks, the New York Times reported.

The post has been vacant since Hope Hicks left the White House in March.

Shine resigned from Fox News in May 2017 over his handling of the sexual scandals involving Ailes and former talk show host Bill O’Reilly.

Ailes died in May 2017, nearly a year after stepping down at Fox News.
