An 11-year-old boy on life support after being hit by a car on Anlaby Road is fighting 'hour by hour' to survive, his devastated dad has said.
Mason Deakin, 11, was riding his bike along Anlaby Road with best friend Steven Duffield, 10, on October 19 when they were both hit by a blue BMW.
Both boys suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary where tragically Steven died, Hull Live reports.
Mason has been transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where he is currently in a coma and on life support.
His dad, Jordan Deakin, told Hull Live that the family is “in bits” as they keep their hopes up that Mason will pull through.

“He is stable but he is not out of the woods yet,” said Jordan. “He is in intensive care on life support and we have been told by doctors that we have got to take it hour by hour at the moment.”
Due to current Covid restrictions a majority of Mason’s family await for updates in Hull as they are no unable to visit him in hospital.
Jordan and Mason’s mum Kirsty Gould are currently staying in Leeds to support their son but are also restricted to how often they can see him.
“Our family is in bits,” said Jordan. “We are going through a hard time at the moment. We are stuck in Leeds which is the best place for him but due to Covid the family can’t come and see him.
“Only me and his mum are allowed to see him at an hour at a time. It is frustrating for them. It is very difficult. Things are looking positive a little but anything could go wrong.”
Jordan also thanked the many people who had offered their support to the family during this difficult time and for their tributes to Mason’s best friend Steven who tragically died in the accident.
A huge balloon release happened in West Park on Tuesday as residents of Anlaby Road paid tribute to 10-year-old Steven.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene of the accident and has since been released under investigation.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "It was reported that at 6.10pm on Monday, a blue BMW had collided with two boys riding a bike. Both boys were taken to hospital where Steven tragically passed away from his injuries.
“The other boy on the bike, named by his family as 11-year-old Mason Deakin, has been in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries since the incident. Although his injuries remain serious, he is now in a stable condition.”
She added: “A 30-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences has been released under investigation as we continue our enquiries.
“Steven's family continue to receive support at this difficult time from our specially trained officers and are grateful for all the messages of the love and support pouring in from the public."
Collision investigations continue and Humberside Police are appealing for any information, witnesses, or dashcam footage of the incident, or moments prior.
