British man ’10 minutes from death’ after horrific knife attack in Thailand

A British man has revealed how he was ‘10 minutes from death’ after claiming he was stabbed 16 times in a horrific knife attack in Thailand as he slept.

Mark Dickinson, from Stone, Staffordshire was reportedly hospitalised after being stabbed in the back, neck, chest and arm following the incident in Koh Chang.

On his Facebook page, Mark shared photographs show him lying in a pool of blood during a police reconstruction.

He also shared images of his knife wounds across his shoulder and back, reports the Stoke Sentine l.

In his post, he claims he was assaulted six weeks ago.

He claimed the assailant had been in court, described him as dangerous and said he should be behind bars.

Mark, whose Facebook page lists him as coming from Stone, says: “I was attacked by a knife 16 times while I slept about six weeks ago."

Mark’s sister Karen Jones said the last six weeks had been ‘horrendous’.

Karen, 47, from Stone, said: "He’s not been able to sleep since this happened. He’s got post-traumatic stress.

"I wanted to fly out to be with him when this happened but my mum is 75 and I couldn’t leave.

"We’re now trying to get Mark home and my mum has paid for his flight but we have to wait until the court case it sorted.

"I just want him back home in Stone so he can recuperate properly here."

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been contacted for comment.
