Almost 200 employees of a US property company have 50,000 reasons to be happy this Christmas – as that is their incredible bonus this year.
A shock announcement by their boss at their festive dinner stunned the audience of workers who had all been handed red envelopes.
The company in Maryland gave the ultimate holiday surprise when it announced a total $10million (£8million) bonus fund that will be divided among its 198 employees — resulting in the average employee receiving $50,000 (£38,000).
St. John Properties, a real estate firm in the Mid-Atlantic, said the bonus was in celebration of achieving its goal of developing 20 million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space across eight states.
