A dad killed in a hit-and-run crash has been named – as his heartbroken family revealed their lives "will never be the same again".
Danny Blount died in the crash in Birmingham last Wednesday at 6.45pm.
The 31-year-old died at the scene and his family have released a heartbreaking tribute statement.
Mr Blount, a roofer, was travelling in a white Ford Transit van when it is believed he was in a collision with a black car that failed to stop at the scene.
The collision occurred outside a Royal Mail sorting office, with the white Transit van hitting a tree on the central reservation, Birmingham Live reported.
Mr Blount’s family said in a short statement released through police: “Our lives will never be the same without him."
Two other victims suffered injuries in the crash.
One remains in a critical condition and the other has now been released from hospital.
No arrests have been made, but the police investigation continues.
In a statement released today, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “A man who died following a serious collision in Birmingham has been named today as Daniel Blount, as police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
“No arrests have been made but the investigation continues."
The crash scene has since been adorned in floral tributes, photographs and heart-rending messages, with one reading: “The whole of Kingstanding is in mourning.
“Thank you for all the laughs you have given us over the years.
"You were certainly one big character and we will never forget you. RIP bro.”
