A woman has been reported to have been kidnapped while she enjoyed an early morning jog near a university in the USA, police have said.

Eliza Fletcher, 34, had been out for a jog yesterday morning (Friday, September 2) when she was reportedly shoved into a black SUV car.

According to witness reports, she had been running near Zach Curlin Street in Memphis at around 4:20am when the horror abduction is said to have taken place.

There was reportedly a brief struggle that broke out before she was allegedly forced inside the vehicle, according to witness statements given to police

Fletcher is understood to be the heiress of a billion-dollar fortune, standing to inherit the family hardware business Orgill Inc.

The family are understood to be offering a reward of $50,000 (£43,000) for information that could lead to her rescue.

Her phone was found smashed along with her water bottle outside a property belonging to the university while CCTV picked up an image of Fletcher before she went missing.

Memphis Police are now asking for anyone with information to come forward. She was last seen wearing a pink top and purple joggers.
