Holiday horror as Brit killed while cliff diving

The partner of a British man tragically killed on holiday in Portugal has paid tribute to the “love of my life”.

The horror unfolded on Friday (May 28) when Andy Kerr died in a cliff diving accident.

Tributes have since been flooding in for Andy, who hailed from Paisley in Scotland,

And kind-hearted supporters have already helped his partner Karolina Markevica smash through a fundraising target she set up in a bid to repatriate Andy’s body and pay for his funeral, the Daily Record reports.

Karolina, a model from Edinburgh, launched a GoFundMe page, urging his pals to “help Andy to get back home”.

The target was £15,000 but it had already hit £17,500 by Monday morning.

In a touching online tribute, Karolina said: “Our beloved Andy has died in a cliff jumping accident on 28th May in Portugal. Andy was the love of my life, best friend, my rock.

“Andy dedicated his life to helping and motivating the others to achieve their best, to improve their lifestyle, to become successful.

“Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, Andy was and will be our mentor, who could have changed the world with just an idea, and he did change the world for lots of people, including myself.”

Among the online tributes was one from Paula Holding, who wrote: “I still can't believe this is real. All my love & thoughts with everyone who loves you especially your family. You touched so many souls on this earth, even my kids. You taught me so much, I will really miss you Andy, like a brother for always.”

Asking for help to get Andy home, Karolina wrote: “We are all devastated by Andy’s loss and will need to get Andy back to the United Kingdom. We want to give Andy the memorial he deserves, to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes.

“I am currently asking for donations to help his parents to cover the costs of Andy’s funeral and repatriation. We need to raise £15,000 by tomorrow, 31st May, in order to be able to afford it in Portugal and in the United Kingdom.

“Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time. Thank you so much and have a wonderful day.”

Before setting off on their tragic overseas trip, Karolina had written on Facebook about how much they were looking forward to their hols.

She said: "Another Wonderful weekend. And.. wohoo! It’s time to get some adventures! Officially on vacation! Finally …Have a lovely week, people!"
