BERNIE ECCLESTONE is the former boss of Formula One and one of the UK's richest men.
But is he married, and does he have any children?
Who is Bernie Ecclestone? What's his background?
Bernie Ecclestone has become synonymous with the opulence and luxury of Formula One, but he came from a humble background.
The 91-year-old was born the son of a fisherman in Suffolk in 1930 and after World War 2 got his first job at a gasworks testing gas purity.
Ecclestone's first foray into motorsport was trading spare parts for motorcycles before he branched into car racing in 1949, driving Formula 3 series cars – but following an accident he withdrew from racing cars himself.
After making successful investments in property he returned to motorsport in a management role, and was involved in team ownership until 1978 when he formed the Constructors Association in 1974 and became its chief executive four years later.
This role would put him at the top of Formula One for nearly four decades, and he turned it into a multi-billion-dollar business.
In June 2022, Ecclestone gave a controversial interview on Good Morning Britain in which he said he would "take a bullet" for Russian president Vladimir Putin.
He later apologised for his comments about Russian leader, the telling Sky Sports News: "I think often people come out and say things or do things without really too much thinking. Probably I did the same.
"I can understand people thinking I'm defending what he's done in Ukraine, which I don't. I was brought up during the war, the last war, so I know what it's like.
"So I feel sorry for the people in Ukraine having to suffer for something they haven't done. They've done nothing wrong. They didn't start anything. They want to get on with their lives."
He added: "They want the kids to go to school and try and go to work and earn a living to keep the family going.
"So they don't deserve to have to suffer. It's not good for anybody. I can't see anybody getting anything out of this and I think they should get together and get an agreement.
"And I'm sorry if anything I've said has upset anybody because it certainly wasn't intended."
How much did Bernie Ecclestone sell Formula 1 for?
The tycoon finally sold the commercial rights Formula 1 to Liberty Media in January 2017 following approval from the sport's governing body.
The FIA said its partnership with Liberty would "ensure the continued success and development" of F1.
It bought just over 18 per cent of the shares in Delta Topco, the holding company of the F1 Group, back in September 2016.
The takeover of the sport cost the American company £6.4 billion.
He was replaced in his role by Chase Carey, an American executive known for his trademark moustache.
Carey stepped down as CEO in 2021 and was replaced by Stephano Domenicali.
How much is Bernie Ecclestone worth?
Ecclestone has amassed an enormous fortune.
The Sunday Times Rich List ranks the motorsport mogul as the 65th wealthiest person in the country, with an estimated net worth of £2.5billion.
He's been married three times, to Ivy Bamford, model Slavica Radic and his current wife Fabiana Flosi.
Fabiana's mother was kidnapped in her native Brazil in August 2016.
She was found a week later in a flat in the poor part of São Paulo, Brazil, after the kidnappers made traceable calls to police.
In July 2022, Ecclestone was charged with fraud, accused of failing to declare overseas assets worth more than £400million to the taxman.
He will appear before magistrates in Westminster, London at 10am on August 22, 2022.
