AN UNUSUAL coffee order at Starbucks has customers and baristas shaking their heads.
Starbucks employee Jonah Self was shocked when a customer ordered an iced tea with 40 pumps of syrup.
In a TikTok he posted showing him add all 40 pumps, the cup was about a quarter of the way full of syrup.
Self then filled the cup the rest of the way up with coffee and ice.
To make matters worse, in the caption he wrote the guest originally ordered an iced tea but then changed to an iced coffee, so Self had to make the drink twice.
Viewers were convinced Self must have heard the order incorrectly.

Some commented it must have been an online order that was supposed to say four pumps but had an unfortunate typo that made it 40.
Self quickly reassured everyone in a comment this was a drive-thru order and the guest was very clear saying, "I want Forty pumps of classic. Not Fourteen, Four Zero."
Although the 40 pumps only added about 80 cents to the price of the drink, it also added 800 calories to a simple iced coffee.
The customer came back and ordered the same thing on another day. Self posted another TikTok of him making the infamous drink.

Commenters on both videos were critical of the recent price increases at Starbucks, but Self said it's all for a good reason.
The increases allow raises for all employees so they can keep up with inflation.
“Higher prices, more pay, no more paycheck to paycheck. So please stop yelling at baristas because your drink was upped 50 cents," he replied to commenters.
In order to combat higher prices, a TikTok finance expert posted a video on how to get free drinks.
John Liang, who goes by JohnsFinanceTips, says customers can get free refills of hot coffee, iced coffee, cold brew coffee, hot tea, or iced tea.

As long as the customer gets a refill from the same purchase from the same day, in the same store, during the same visit, it'll be free.
This is especially helpful for those who sit at Starbucks and study or work for hours on end.
