Kate and William celebrate Charlotte’s third birthday with very cute picture

Prince William and Kate Middleton have marked Princess Charlotte’s third birthday with a very cute picture.

The Kensington Palace official Twitter account published an adorable photo of Charlotte wearing a red coat and pink scarf.

The image was taken by keen photographer and proud mum Kate in January to mark the princess’s first day at Willcocks Nursery School.

The tweet said: "Wishing a happy third birthday to Princess Charlotte – thank you all for your lovely messages!"

The year ahead will be busy for Charlotte if her last 12 months are anything to go by.

The royal tot was a bridesmaid for her aunt Pippa Middleton before she jetted off on an overseas tour with her parents last year.

Just last week, she stole the spotlight as she arrived at the Lindo Wing in west London to meet her new baby brother, Prince Louis .

Princess Charlotte’s birthday comes just nine days after the arrival of her younger brother.

Prince Louis was born on Monday last week and his name was revealed by Kensington Palace on Friday.

Charlotte took centre stage on the day Louis was born when she visited him in hospital.

Alongside shy older brother Prince George, it was Charlotte who waved to photographers as she led her father the Duke of Cambridge up the steps of the Lindo Wing.

The young princess began at Willcocks Nursery School close to her Kensington Palace home in January.

We can expect to see Charlotte again in a few weeks at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

She was bridesmaid when the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton married hedge fund manager James Matthews in the village of Englefield in Berkshire last May.

Dressed in a cream dress tied with a dusky pink sash, Charlotte scattered confetti petals from a wicker basket and wore a headdress of white flowers.

Kate took charge of the bridesmaids and pageboys, including Prince George, and at one point had to tell the excited children to keep quiet.

Charlotte and George also joined their parents on an official tour of Poland and Germany last summer.

The princess was pictured collecting posies, peering out of the windows of their plane with brother George – but also having a little tantrum on the tarmac.

The youngster sat down on the floor in protest, but was promptly scooped up, comforted and distracted by her mother Kate.

And, as a royal rite of passage for princes and princesses, Charlotte joined the Windsors on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the traditional Trooping the Colour parade.

While George appeared to have had enough, resting his head on his hand as he stood on a little step on the red cloth decorated balcony, Charlotte seemed content during the annual event.

She happily watched the flypast, grinning as the military aircraft flew over the Queen’s London home.
