A man has died following a fatal knife fight outside a London Tube station.

Police were called to reports of three men fighting on Ackmar Road in Parsons Green at about 6:42pm on Thursday evening.

A man with stab wounds was treated at the scene but sadly died.

A second man was taken to hospital in condition not thought to be life-threatening.

Parsons Green Station has been closed until further notice and a crime scene remains in place.

Greg Hands, MP for Chelsea and Fulham, called the incident "truly awful".

"Thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim," he said in a tweet.

Any witnesses with information about the stabbing are asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 5723/11Feb, or contact Crimestoppers.

It comes after two people were killed and at least 14 were injured in a spate of London stabbings over the weekend, the Mirror reports.

Lavaun Witter, known to his friends as Lavz, was fatally knifed at a block of flats in Croydon, south London, just after 8pm on Friday.

Local residents said the victim was conscious when police arrived but his life "faded away" amid efforts to save him.

The distraught mum of the victim, believed to be from the Peckham area, was "crying and in pieces" after arriving at the scene, according to a witness who said the man appeared to have a deep cut to his leg.

A campaign group has been set up to support the man's devastated family, MyLondon reports.

Sven Badzak was named as the other man who was stabbed to death over the weekend.

He was killed after being chased and attacked by a group in Kilburn on Saturday.

Mr Badzak, reportedly a train driver and an aspiring lawyer who had been privately educated, had been on his way to Waitrose to pick up orange juice when he was set upon by a group, his mother Jasna Badzak told My London.
