The actor, who played Daz Spencer, was cleared of unlawfully wounding a pensioner during a pub row.
The 54-year-old was also found not guilty of affray and assault by beating by a jury at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester last week.
Now the dad-of-two wants to put his “year of hell” behind him.
He said of his role in the ITV soap: “It was left open, thank goodness.
“Yes the opportunity to possibly go back is something I’m holding dear to.”
Mark joined the soap in 2014 and was a staple character until he got into a row last July while celebrating his engagement to co-star Laura Norton at the Farrars Arms in Oldham.
He added: “Oh my goodness. It was a long year. To get the 12 beautiful people to see the facts and say ‘not guilty’ was a massive relief.”
Emotional Mark also opened up on being labelled “villainous and aggressive” during his trial. He said: “It turns your life upside down.”
