Meghan and Harry’s ‘obsessive campaign’ to win over royal fans

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be in the midst of an "obsessive campaign" to win over fans of the Royal Family, according to an expert.

Their planned campaign to win over the "hearts and minds of young Americans" as one commentator put it, shows the Sussexes are competing with the Cambridge family.

Cementing themselves as the face of the Royal Family in the United States, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's campaign has seen them appeal to a younger generation for support.

But Prince William in particular hopes to seize that same demographic in a potential shift in focus for the Cambridge family, a royal expert has claimed.

Expert Eric Schiffer said: "I think Harry and Meghan have made a obsessive campaign to win the hearts and minds of young Americans.

"They have done a superb job at zeroing in, in a political sense, on issues that are most meaningful, and present themselves as champions in ways that have convinced gen-z and millennials that they are advocates.

"That they can count on and and look to you for support. It's been strategic.

"They assert the soft power of William and his father in America by zeroing in and spending more time and paying more attention to to that demographic are."

That focus from the Sussexes on the new generation of Royal Family fans could steer them well, but Prince William and the Cambridge family are not far behind.

Expert Schiffer continued: "One is aware of it. They're planning on coming here. They've been aware of it for a while and they're re-dialling their messaging."

News of a potential American expansion for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was reported by Daily Star, with the pair said to be "desperate" for a PR boost across the pond.

The need for limelight in the "essential asset" that is the United States could push the Cambridge family to spending more time in the States.
