Prince Louis’ birth certificate released after his birth is formally registered

The birth certificate of Prince Louis has been made public – after it was signed by proud dad the Duke of Cambridge.

The document gives the full name of the latest member of the royal family as His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.

William and Kate’s third child was born at the private maternity unit of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington on Monday April 23 at 11.01am, weighing 8lb 7oz.

The duke, who is taking a period off following the birth of his son, signed the birth certificate earlier on Tuesday at Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be getting a seriously impressive wedding present off the Queen

The document listed the date and place of Louis’s birth and also gave the full name of his father and mother.

The occupations listed for mum and dad are the ‘Prince and Princess of the United Kingdom’.

Last week it was reported that the newborn prince is unlikely to attend his uncle Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle next month – so he doesn’t distract attention from the happy couple’s big day.

Unlike Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s birth certificate, Prince Louis’s is typed and not handwritten.

Now, bookies are placing their bets on who Louis’ Godparents will be, with the duke’s soon-to-be former private secretary Miguel Head quickly becoming the punters’ favourite.

With odds of 2/1 people are hedging their bets, while there’s also a 3/1 chance Kate calls upon Rebecca Priestley.

2/1 is the price is on offer for William’s childhood nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke to be given the honour, or it’s a 3/1 chance Laura Lopes is asked to be a Godmother.

Jessica Bridge, of Ladbrokes, said: “As with George and Charlotte the Duke and Duchess chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis.”

In other royal news, Princess Charlotte celebrates her third birthday tomorrow.

The royal youngster, who is getting used to being a big sister to Prince Louis, turns three just nine days after the arrival of her baby brother.

Confident Charlotte delighted royal fans by waving and leading her father the Duke of Cambridge up the steps of the Lindo Wing when she was taken to meet her new sibling for the first time last week.

The princess, who is fourth in line to the throne, is now the Cambridges’ middle child.

The past year saw another big change for Charlotte when she started nursery school.

She attends Willcocks Nursery School, close to her Kensington Palace home.
