Princess Diana’s brother posted a sweet message on social media after Kate Middleton gave birth to his great nephew.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, a healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs 7oz, just after 11am this morning.
Charles Spencer, the younger brother of the late Diana, took to social media to share his joy at the happy news.
The 53-year-old had a difficult relationship with parts of the royal family after his sister’s death, but has always seemed to have a strong bond with her sons.
After the announcement was made this afternoon, he retweeted photographs of Prince George and Princess Charlotte posted by the official Kensington Palace Twitter account.
They showed the two young royals arriving at the Lindo Wing ready to meet their new baby brother.
Alongside the photos, Charles wrote: "Very sweet!"
We couldn’t agree more!
George and Charlotte looked adorable as they climbed the hospital steps holding their dad’s hands.
Princess Charlotte seemed to be loving her time in the spotlight and stole the show by waving to photographers and screaming royal fans.
The Duke and Duchess left the hospital with their new baby son just after 6pm this evening.
Charles’s account does not have a blue tick, but the account is often retweeted by the official Althorp account.
His recent tweets are plugging events happening at the house and photos of the site’s beautiful grounds.
