THIS is the terrifying moment a huge explosion tore through a home and left four injured in a suspected gas blast.

Two casualties were rushed to hospital after a fire broke out in Winsford, Cheshire, forcing people to evacuate their homes.


Dramatic footage has now emerged of the moment the explosion erupted on Wednesday morning.

The harrowing videos show the flames erupt, destroying a home as horrified onlookers stood by.

In one clip, posted on TikTok, you can see grey smoke billowing through the sky.

Roof tiles fly off one property, as debris is thrown in the air.

Bangs and small explosions can be heard in the video footage, as locals watch on in shock.

Emergency services flocked to the scene and residents living nearby were evacuated.

Four people had been hurt but their injuries were not believed to be life threatening, Cheshire Police revealed.

North West Ambulance Service said two of the casualties had been taken to hospital while the other two were treated at the scene.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said firefighters were "working hard to tackle the fire" and the cause of the fire was unknown at this stage.

"A number of properties in the area have been evacuated and a temporary shelter has been set up at the New Images Youth Centre for residents affected," the force added.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service urged nearby residents to close windows and doors as a precaution.

Meanwhile, a school statement from the local Winsford Academy said: "We have been informed of a recent explosion close to the school grounds. I would just like to confirm that all of our children are safe, in lessons and are well.

"Some students have found the situation upsetting, however, we have provided support for those individuals. We have been advised not to evacuate the building and therefore, we will be finishing at our usual time."

An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the explosion.
