Wildlife rescuers were given a surprise when a bird they were called to attend to making “strange” sounds turned out to be a stuffed Harry Potter toy.
Volunteers from Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue were contacted when a concerned resident heard “bird noises” coming from inside a wall cavity.
The confused householder had been unable to establish where a bird could have got into the wall and scoured the property for a point of entry.

However, they eventually established that the noise was coming from a Hedwig toy underneath their sofa.
Hedwig is Harry Potter's owl in the Wizarding World franchise.
Fortunately, the hooting stuffed toy was found before any walls were damaged in the search for the distressed “bird”.
Grimsby Live reported that Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue was quick to take to Facebook to update followers about the hilarious situation.
They wrote: "Let’s end today on a happy and rather comedic note: We were called to a house regarding strange bird noises believed to be coming from inside the wall!
“There was no obvious entry point that the resident could find so it was a mystery as to how any bird would’ve found its way into the wall cavity.

"However, as we drove to the location we received an update that we may not be needed and the residents may have found the bird… The next update didn’t half make us chuckle.
“Here it is: 'I’m really sorry…it’s a Harry Potter Hedwig teddy one of the kids has been round and left it under the sofa'."
The rescuer joked: "Well, at least it wasn’t a real bird and we was able to move onto the next rescue! Thanks for the video and permission to share your story."
