Teens slammed for ‘disgusting’ TikTok Halloween costumes as inmates in blackface

A group of teens have been slammed for their offensive Halloween costumes as they dressed up as prisoners with their skin coloured black.

The boys caused controversy after they walked around Walmart in blackface in front of shocked shoppers in Utah, USA.

In a shocking clip online, a woman could be heard accusing the teens of committing a hate crime as they brushed off her comments.

The clip, which was captioned, 'Who are these kids in Cedar City Utah?', as the woman urged TikTok users to help identify them.

She addressed the group and said: “You guys are not going to get into a college. You guys are not going to get any scholarships, because this is a hate crime.

“We all dropped out of high school, it’s OK,” a smart-mouthed teen said in response, whilst laughing.

The woman added: “I still don’t think it’s appropriate for you guys to be doing this. It’s really not funny.”

The video caused outrage on TikTok and Twitter, with one person stating: “The fact that they knew what they were doing… DISGUSTING humans.

Another one commented: “Such ignorance. They won’t be anything better than where they are mentally."

A third person said: “This can’t go unpunished. Everyone sticking up for them is just as racist. They think this is so funny, proves how disgusting they are."

Cedar City Police released a statement on November 1 and said they were not called to the store.

However, they confirmed that they are investigating the incident, reports Dexerto.

“Cedar City Police Department and Cedar City officials do not condone this type of activity,” they said.

A spokesperson for Walmart said the teens were kicked out of the store.

The representative said: "We don’t tolerate discrimination or demeaning behaviour of any kind and are incredibly disappointed by what is shown in this video."
