Tesco shoplifter nicked 150 cream eggs and 10 packs of coffee beans

A chocolate-loving shoplifter tried poaching nearly £100 worth of Creme Eggs and coffee beans from Tesco.

Scott Walsh-Fleming, 37, was caught smuggling out of the Tesco Express store at The Triangle in Bournemouth, 150 Cadbury Creme Eggs and ten packets of coffee January 6.

The thief appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on April 20 via video link to admit to stealing the sweet Easter treats, which totalled a value of £94.60, Bournemouth Daily Echo reports.

The petty crime, which has become the subject of jokes on social media, occurred on the same day Walsh-Fleming targeted a Co-op shop in Madeira Road, Bournemouth.

He admitted in court to the second charge of theft, relating to stealing £63.30 worth of goods.

As the defendant appeared in court from custody for a separate offence, the Magistrates sentenced him to seven days to be added onto his current prison term.

Walsh-Fleming, of no fixed abode was also ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.

Commenting on the Bournemouth Daily Echo's report, some Facebook users were shocked at the custodial sentence while others made light of the crime.

One person wrote: "He got eggxactly what he deserved."

"Trouble was he put all his eggs in one basket," a budding comedian jested.

"That's one hell of a sugar rush and caffeine hit all at once. What did he do?, walk out with the whole display?," A third joked.

Another weighed in on the eternal Creme Egg debate by querying: "Wonder how he eats his."

Someone else replied: "From a prison cell"

And one reader on social media just could not get their head around the fact Walsh-Fleming carried so many. They said: "Honestly I can't get more than 3 in my hand, where the hell did he put 150 and how did no-one notice?"
