A three-car crash in Aurora on the night of July Fourth left one woman dead, and police are looking for information about three people who fled the scene before they arrived.
Authorities responded to the crash at 11:37 p.m. on North Havana Street, south of North Del Mar Parkway, according to an Aurora Police Department release, where the occupants of the car that police determined in the initial investigation was at fault had run away.
A Nissan Rogue and Chrysler Town and Country minivan were driving southbound on Havana Street when a Chevy Avalanche driving northbound crossed the center and hit the Nissan head on, causing the Nissan to hit the minivan in the adjacent lane, police said.
Three people in the Avalanche escaped, according to police, but the man driving the Nissan and the woman who was the passenger were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The woman died at the hospital. The people in the minivan were not injured.
Aurora police ask that anyone with information about the crash or the people in the Avalanche at the time of the crash call Aurora police or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 where they can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
