<\/p>\nStrictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has issued a new health update regarding the heartbreaking pain she is experiencing amid her battle with breast cancer. <\/p>\n
The 33-year old professional dancer revealed she had been diagnosed with the disease in May and underwent a mastectomy a month later.<\/p>\n
Since then doctors have found another type of cancer in the Welsh beauty, which she described as a "massive blow" that forces her to miss this year's competition of the BBC show. <\/p>\n

Opening up on Sunday (August 20) Amy said she has been left feeling "heartbroken" after her hair began to fall out, despite "cold clapping" – a technique practiced by sufferers to try and stem the side effect. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Addressing her 469,000 Instagram followers, she wrote on her story: "Wanted to be open and honest with you all from the start.<\/p>\n
"So this cycle, I started feeling sick soon as second lot of \u2018red devil\u2019 was going in. Got home very tired and started being sick (even with all the anti-sickness), by Friday afternoon the sickness stopped and just waves of nausea.<\/p>\n
"Still taking anti-sickness now. Hardly any sleep due to steroids and insomnia they bring with them."<\/p>\n
She continued: "Didn\u2019t have any last cycle but some lovely mouth ulcer friends this time round. But I\u2019ve managed some walks, lovely homemade soups and smoothies and feeling even better today. The little wins!"<\/p>\n

Discussing her hair loss further, the ballroom and Latin American specialist explained she is struggling to "feel like herself" as a consequence. <\/p>\n
And poor Amy admitted she will be wearing a custom-made wig to hide the effects of her treatment.<\/p>\n
"What I\u2019ve found harder this time round [second bout of chemotherapy] and the last few days is hair shedding.<\/p>\n
"Even though I\u2019m cold capping you hope to keep 50 percent of your hair and there are also many benefits to the hair growing back quicker too.<\/p>\n

"But as much as I prepared myself waking up every day gently combing my hair with a wide comb and seeing what comes out, it is just heartbreaking personally for me.<\/p>\n
"I\u2019m only washing my hair once, max twice, this week, not using any heat on my hair or styling it so I just don\u2019t feel like me.<\/p>\n
"So it\u2019s time to bring out the wig I say and get used to this and help me feel like me. I\u2019m still Amy!<\/p>\n
"Some days last week I\u2019d wake and for the first few seconds you forget and then suddenly it all hits you, the day and challenges ahead and your new reality and it\u2019s tough – had a few morning cries and learning that\u2019s okay too."<\/p>\n
Amy closed her update by thanking her friends, family and followers alike for their support, adding that messages "really help" her in her fight.<\/p>\n
