Jazz FM and Classic FM presenter Jamie Crick has died at the age of 57.<\/p>\n
The broadcaster rose to fame due to his shows on Jazz FM, Classic FM, and Scala Radio.<\/p>\n
Jamie spent over 30 years on the airwaves in his impressive broadcasting career.<\/p>\n
His final appearance on the radio came just yesterday, as he fronted what became his last show on Jazz FM on Monday afternoon (August 28).<\/p>\n
Bauer Media have reported that Jamie’s family said he died following a short illness.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n The spokesperson also described Jamie as a “great friend”.<\/p>\n The presenter was also praised by DJ Simon Bates following the tragic news of his death.<\/p>\n “When I first started at Classic FM, Jamie was a fund of support, kindness and good humour,” Simon shared.<\/p>\n BBC Radio London’s Jason Rosam also honoured Jamie, writing: “He gave me my first job in radio and his wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support shaped me in ways I can\u2019t express.<\/p>\n “Forever grateful for the moments shared and the lessons learned.”<\/p>\n Jamie first began to pursue his passion for radio in 1988 at the Guildford-based County Sound in Surrey.<\/p>\n The star then worked for BBC Radio before going on to become part of Classic FM’s team in 1993.<\/p>\n Jamie worked there for 20 years before moving on to Jazz FM in 2014, hosting Breakfast and then Afternoon Drive.<\/p>\n He also fronted a weekend show on Scala and has presented on LBC.<\/p>\n
