TV host Kirstie Allsopp has claimed that one of the reasons why people may not be fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be down to their treatment of the late Queen.

She made the comments in tweets sent just days after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 when Prince Harry and Meghan joined the Prince and Princess of Wales in greeting mourners outside Windsor.

As mourners lined up to offer their condolences, some of the members of the crowd appeared to purposefully ignore Harry and Meghan.

This prompted Kirstie, 52, to tweet to her 434,000 followers: “When it’s tempting to send a spikey tweet to those being critical or mocking of our Queen, and our new King with, within days of her death, I just think ‘what would the Queen do?’ it’s been said again & again that she found positives in everyone, HM set an extraordinary example.”
