A MUM has recalled how she was savagely mum-shamed for not telling her three-year-old off when he wet himself in public.

Kelsie explained that she follows a gentle parenting approach with her kids.

So when he had an accident, and also "smushed some food into the carpet", she wasn't about to "punish" him like the other person wanted.

"That person told me they would have whooped my son's a*s but that's just not me," Kelsie said in a video on her TikTok page.

"They told me I was a 'bad, selfish mum' for not punishing him.

"My son's only three, him and I have a good vibe with each other.

"And when my son had the accident in his pants, I told him 'Hey man, it's ok – accidents happen, but next time can you tell Mummy when you have to pee?'"

As for the food and the carpet, Kelsie said she made him go over, pick the food up and put it in the rubbish.

"He got upset and started crying, and I told him to sit down, and once he's done crying, we can talk," she said.

"So about a minute later he stopped crying, came over to me, sat on my lap and we talked about why we don't do that and why we listen to me.

You can’t expect a child to know right and wrong without being taught."

"Yesss!" another added.

"Love hearing this, you stand your ground momma! I’m with you!"

As a third commented: "I’m pregnant right now, and honestly this is what I mean when I say I want to communicate with my future child."

"Why does everyone always want to punish a baby?" someone else questioned.

"They are learning still."

A stability moon means friends & family harmony can happen faster than you think
