Prince Harry showed "genuine happiness" when talking about his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II as he presented an award on a UK trip where he is expected to avoid his family.

Stateside Harry was back on home turf to present an award and give a speech at the WellChild Awards in London, an annual ceremony to celebrate seriously ill children and their families.

He missed the awards last year because of the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whom he spoke about fondly in his speech at the event.

And he displayed "genuine happiness" as he did so, according to body language expert Chris Pardoe, who goes by bodylanguagechris on Instagram.

Despite Harry's glowing appraisal of the late Monarch, and him saying she would be "happy we're together" he was not talking about family, but those present in the room.

And his overall demeanour was one of nerves, relief and happiness, Chris said. He told the Daily Star: "When mentioning the Queen, there are no signs of animosity towards HRH, in fact demonstrates genuine happiness when talking about her.

"He is actually slightly more confident in this part of the speech. Once the speech is done, he looks down – (continuing the nerves) trying to calm himself (soothing his hands), shakes out arms trying to release some of the anxiety /stress then the hand rubbing is a strong sign something positive it about to happen."
