THIS is the horror moment a groom was shot dead by a gun-wielding guest who fired shots in the air during wedding celebrations.<\/p>\n

Shocking footage shows the guest dancing and excitingly firing in the air right before he accidentally shoots the groom in the chest.<\/p>\n

The tragedy happened last month during pre-wedding celebrations in Jordan's Ma'an Governorate, according to Jordan News.<\/p>\n

The groom, in his early 20s, was identified by local media as Hamza Sattam Hamed Al-Fanatsa.<\/p>\n

He was rushed to the hospital following the shooting but later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

Hamza was a police officer working for the East Amman Directorate.<\/p>\n

Authorities have banned celebratory gunfire with those who make unauthorised use of firearms or explosives facing up to three months behind bars and a \u00a31,100 fine.<\/p>\n

They have also promoted the "Don\u2019t kill your happiness" campaign.<\/p>\n

Celebratory gunfire is quite common in the Middle East as well as South Asia, Latin America and parts of the Balkans.<\/p>\n

But it has many times ended up in tragedy with several casualties.<\/p>\n

Last year a bride was killed at her own wedding when a stray celebratory bullet fired by a guest hit her in the head.<\/p>\n

Mahvash Leghaei, 24, was toasting her marriage<\/span> following the ceremony in\u00a0Iran\u00a0when the fatal shot was blasted from a high-powered hunting rifle.<\/p>\n

While in another wedding a groom shot his pal dead by mistake after firing off a shot in celebration at his wedding.<\/p>\n
