British football star David Beckham has said Taylor Swift \u201cdeserves to be happy\u201d as he discussed the relationship rumours between the US pop singer and American football player Travis Kelce. <\/p>\n

The Anti-Hero singer-songwriter has made headlines recently after she was spotted in the stands at NFL games to support the Kansas City Chiefs, sparking rumours of a new romance with the team\u2019s tight end Kelce.<\/p>\n

Former England captain David, 48, has experienced similar attention throughout his relationship with Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham, 49, who he married in 1999 and shares four children with. <\/p>\n

Speaking on the red carpet for the London premiere of his new documentary series, David said: \u201cI know there\u2019s a lot of noise around around Taylor at the moment\u2026 Taylor is an amazing talent and she\u2019s an amazing person and she deserves to be happy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd whatever she does, and whoever she\u2019s with, as long as she\u2019s happy that\u2019s the most important thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the same with me and Victoria. We\u2019ve been together now for 26 years, almost three decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe\u2019ve got amazing kids, we\u2019ve built businesses, but we make time for each other. We respect each other and we love our kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to work hard at these things and yes, we\u2019ve been together for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple had their first child Brooklyn in March 1999 and are also parents to Romeo, Cruz and Harper.<\/p>\n

The new Netflix series, titled Beckham, follows the former midfielder\u2019s rise to football stardom through interviews from Posh and Becks and other famous faces.<\/p>\n

The docuseries will also see him discuss a period of depression he went through in the late 1990s after being sent off in the 1998 World Cup.<\/p>\n

David became a target for abuse when he received a red card in the game against Argentina.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on opening up about these difficult moments, David said on the red carpet: \u201cI wanted to do it right. I\u2019m never going to do a live documentary again.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said that making the documentary was part of his process of healing from these challenge moments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never really sat down and talked about it in such detail. Obviously my family and friends knew what I went through personally and professionally,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut sitting down and going through it in detail or looking at the archive and looking at stuff that I\u2019d properly never seen before, that was quite difficult.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then realising how difficult it was at the time, on the pitch and off the pitch.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it was a really difficult time, but I suppose this is all part of the healing process.\u201d<\/p>\n
