<\/p>\nA WOMAN has revealed how she ended up getting pregnant when she was already expecting. <\/p>\n
Dee is a mum of triplets, but explained in a video on her TikTok page that her babies came about through something called "superfetation pregnancy". <\/p>\n

"Basically, what happened was, we were planning for a baby and I got pregnant," she said. <\/p>\n
"I had an ultrasound – there was one baby. <\/p>\n
"So I thought that I was pregnant and I figured I can't get pregnant again, it's fine if we continue to be careless.<\/p>\n
"I literally said that!"<\/p>\n
A week later, Dee went to the hospital because she was in so much pain, and feared she was having a miscarriage. <\/p>\n "But I came to find out I was in so much pain because my uterus was growing so fast, because there was two more babies!" she added. <\/p>\n "It happened all within like a week span!"<\/p>\n Dee concluded by saying that while a superfetation pregnancy is extremely rare, it's also "very possible" – even for someone who doesn't have triplets or twins running in their family, like her. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n "I tell people all the time now to just be careful because if it happened to me, it could happen to anybody," she said. <\/p>\n "Getting pregnant twice in one week.. I had TRIPLETS!" Dee captioned her video. <\/p>\n "I never knew that this was possible until it happened to me!" <\/p>\n She ended up having two identical and one fraternal triplets. <\/p>\n People were quick to comment on the video, with many admitting it was a "new fear unlocked". <\/p>\n "Seriously I\u2019m traumatised now!" Dee replied. <\/p>\n "I could\u2019ve went on without knowing this," another added.<\/p>\n "Yes this happened to my daughter she ended up with identical twins and a triplet," someone else commented. <\/p>\n "They are 15 now."<\/p>\n As another wrote: "For anyone currently pregnant and worried, just know this can only happen very early in a pregnancy!"<\/p>\n Superfetation is a rare phenomenon where a woman who is already pregnant falls pregnant for a second time. <\/p>\n It occurs when another egg is fertilised by sperm and implanted in the womb days, or sometimes even weeks, later than the first one.<\/p>\n While it's common in animals such as badgers and hares, it's extremely rare in humans. <\/p>\n "Superfetation results in fetuses with different ages and sizes," the Healthline website writes. <\/p>\n "Despite this, it\u2019s possible for both babies to be born fully developed and completely healthy."<\/p>\n And Dee backed this up in her video, as she said that her pregnancy was good and all her babies were born healthy – and are still just as healthy now too.<\/p>\n "SAME!!!
