THE best curry restaurants in the UK have been revealed – with the winner found in a small English village.<\/p>\n

The annual English Curry Awards, with Just Eat, recently named the best across the country.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

Awards included the best restaurants per region, as well as the best takeaway and best customer experience.<\/p>\n

However, the Curry Restaurant of the Year Overall Winner was named Alessi Indian Restaurant.<\/p>\n

Found in the village of Audley in Staffordshire, it not only won Best Restaurant of the Year, but also the Best Midlands Restaurant.<\/p>\n

Last year, they also won the Critic\u2019s Choice Restaurant of the Year award and were even named Most Wanted Restaurant of the Year in the West Midlands in 2021.<\/p>\n

The restaurant wrote on social media: "A huge thank you to everyone: our guests, regulars, and all the staff. <\/p>\n

"We wouldn\u2019t have been able to win these awards with you and much, much more to come from us."<\/p>\n

The restaurant opened 11 years ago, with the name coming from the owner's daughter.<\/p>\n

Owner Jake said: "The Indian restaurant is something that's built into UK society – it's just as important in UK culture as the local food."<\/p>\n

He added: "My nan lived in Audley all her life. The village has always been a huge part of my life. <\/p>\n

"To bring awards here makes me very proud."<\/p>\n

Previous guests of the curry house have raved about it too.<\/p>\n

One person wrote: "Have been dining at Alessi for over 10 years. The food and service is top notch and always consistent."<\/p>\n

Another wrote: "This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Stoke on Trent."<\/p>\n

Someone joked: "The Kardashians wouldn't look out of place if you saw them here."<\/p>\n

While Audley is small, there are other places to dine too.<\/p>\n

The Butchers Arms is a popular pub with locals, along with New Royal Balti, another Indian restaurant and Chinese takeaway New Ruby.<\/p>\n

it is even home to a climbing centre for rock climbers, as well as a volunteer-run Audley Theatre which opened in 1911 as a cinema.<\/p>\n

But there are lots of other amazing attractions in Staffordshire.<\/p>\n

A 900-year-old castle in the region was named one of the best to visit in the country.<\/p>\n

Tamworth Castle was even the home of "warrior queen" Aethelflaed\u00a0before her death in 918.<\/p>\n

And a huge new holiday park could soon open in Staffordshire.<\/p>\n

Moneystone Park hopes to create 250 lodges as well as a swimming<\/span> pool and indoor activity park.<\/p>\n

This would include a soft play, indoor climbing wall, cinema and bowling lanes, while outdoor activities would include archery and horse riding.<\/p>\n
