I like the idea of a predictable security wait&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after advanced new security scanners have been\u00a0installed in London City Airport and northern England&#8217;s Teesside International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>The new CT machines use X-Ray technology to take a high-resolution 3D image of luggage, allowing assessors to view it from every angle and obtain a more detailed view of the contents.<\/p>\n<p>This will mean you won&#8217;t have to remove anything from your bag, including liquids, which should speed up the process massively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The British Government is requiring all major UK airports to use the technology by June 2024, just in time for next year&#8217;s summer holidays.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/20\/17\/76810001-12648237-image-a-167_1697818856930.jpg\" height=\"310\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bookings are currently available for Terminal 3 flights operated by American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic<\/p>\n<h2>Who can use Timeslot?<\/h2>\n<p>The Heathrow website explains that the slots are allocated on a first come, first served basis and you can arrive 15 minutes before or after your scheduled time.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a free service, helping the airport &#8216;regulate the flow through security and speed up the process&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Bookings are currently available for Terminal 3 flights operated by American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also important to note that the booking platform does not permit reservations for timeslots that are less than 90 minutes prior to departure for long-haul flights or less than 60 minutes prior to departure for short-haul flights.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>How to use Timeslot at Heathrow Airport<\/h3>\n<p>1. Check if Timeslot is available for your flight by visiting the online booking page and searching for your flight on the drop down menu<\/p>\n<p>2. Book your timeslot using the booking tool &#8211; all you need is your email address and flight details<\/p>\n<p>3. You will receive a QR code and email confirmation of your booking<\/p>\n<p>4. Once you&#8217;ve checked in your baggage at Heathrow, follow the signs to Heathrow Timeslot area<\/p>\n<p>5.
